![]() The remaining cast is as good as our lead. She’s headstrong and if you annoy her, she’ll butthead you. Spensa has been treated like crap for her entire life, people look at her and whisper but that has not taken out the courage from this girl. Her emotions are so erratic, she’s full of anger but she is so passionate about what she loves. The protagonist is incredible, Spensa is such a beautifully flawed character that I am in love with her. Each of these people are so real, they’ve got flaws that run as deep as their bones. Character Cast – This book has an incredible character cast. ![]() Here’s what a loved about the book (non-spoiler part): We’ve all heard this, but Skyward is so much more. Space, aliens, a war between species, blah blah blah. This is the worst blurb I have possibly read because it gives you ZERO idea about how good this book actually is. Because this ship, uniquely, appears to have a soul. When she discovers the wreckage of an ancient ship, she realizes this dream might be possible-assuming she can repair the ship, navigate flight school, and (perhaps most importantly) persuade the strange machine to help her. Spensa, a teenage girl living among them, longs to be a pilot. Let’s get to the blurb first:ĭefeated, crushed, and driven almost to extinction, the remnants of the human race are trapped on a planet that is constantly attacked by mysterious alien starfighters. I’ll let you know when the spoiler starts. ![]() This review is going to have a non-spoiler and spoiler (the part where I completely freak out) section. You’re going to hear a lot about how distraught I was after reading Skyward. My first Sanderson book was The Final Empire of the Mistborn series and it left me wrecked. Those of you who have already read Brandon Sanderson’s work know what the hype is about.
